On July 10, 2012, Prof. Murat Yakubov, distinguished research fellow of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), as well as the laboratory director of Institute of Water Problems, Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences (IWP, UAS), came to Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG), CAS and conducted academic report entitled “Status and Strategy of Water Problem in Uzbekistan” .

Professor CHEN Xi, director of XIEG, Prof. LEI Jiaqiang and Jilili Abuduwaili, deputy directors of XIEG, attended the academic meeting. Prof. CHEN Xi promulgated the letter of appointment to Prof. Murat Yakubov and hoped that he could undertake the relevant scientific research assignments, train scientific research team and promote the development of disciplines during his stay period.

Professor LEI Jiaqiang praised Murat Yakubov’s report and hoped that XIEG and IWP could gradually conduct multifaceted cooperation in the aspects of scientific program and monograph publishing, and obtain substantial cooperation results. 

Prof. CHEN Xi promulgated the letter of appointment to Prof. Murat Yakubov
