During the period of 9-10 June, the “2013 National Ecology/Astronomy Postdoctoral Academic Forum”, sponsored by the National Postdoctoral Management Committee Office, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Bureau of Personnel & Education, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Xinjiang Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and undertaken by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, and Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory, CAS, was held in XIEG.

This forum attracted more than 100 renowned experts, co-supervisors and postdoctoral researchers from 40 research institutes, universities and enterprises in 16 provinces and autonomous regions such as Beijing, Sichuan, Jiangsu and Xinjiang. During the forum, researchers conducted academic reports on ecology and astronomy, for example, “Shanghai 65 m Radio Telescope”, “Desertification Control in Xinjiang under Global Climate Change”, and “Ionization Process in Supernova Remnant”.

The aims of this postdoctoral academic forum are to enhance the academic communication in the fields of ecology and astronomy in China, promote the discipline development and independent innovation, improve the academic levels of postdoctoral researchers and broaden their research horizons.
