Brief introduction of the research subject
The research subject was obtained through inviting public bidding, and the study period was for three years. The study objectives were to explore and utilize the ecological potential in arid desert regions, coordinate and develop the ecological security and economic construction in desert regions, actualize the organic integration of ecological process and economic process, and develop the characteristic economy and the supporting technology of efficient ecological industry in arid desert regions. A scientific mode of the integration of ecological construction and economic development in the regions with fragile environment was developed. Theoretically, the system info framework and the construction mode of efficient ecological industry in arid desert regions were firstly carried out; technologically, the supporting technology and the technical system of ecological industrial construction in desert regions were put forward after integrating and innovating; the supporting technology and the technical system of ensuring the ecological industry in desert regions and the technical system of the desert-oasis mutual-benefiting integration were efficient and one-up in land development and ecological security in desert regions. In the study 28 experimental and demonstration areas of efficient ecological industry in desert regions were built, the total demonstration area was 900 ha., and the total area of the built demonstration areas with ecological security guarantee was 1927 ha. Thus, the desert soil maturation can be promoted, and the corresponding water-saving irrigation systems and the ecological security guarantee system including the protective ecological security, biological ecological security and water-soil ecological security can be developed. The study results are adaptive for developing the superseding industries of petroleum industry in Karamay, and can infinitely promote the ecological agricultural development and entironment conservation in Karamay.
