Introduction
Founded officially by the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology in April 2007, the Center is affiliated with XIEG, CAS and is based at the provincial level Xinjiang Engineering Technology Research Center for Desert-Oasis Ecological Construction.
The Center is determined to be recognized as a national engineering center of top-level engineering and industry proficiency, a contingent of engineering and technical talents, top-notch engineering and experimental facilities and first-class management.
Driven by the principles of ‘industrialization of research outcomes, and enterprise-style operations oriented to both market and national requirements’, the Center has made efforts to meet the ‘West Development Strategy’ and economic and social development goals. It has put its priorities into solving fundamental and common technical issues in the key fields of desertification control, desert ecological industries and oasis ecological industries. The scientific and technological results, which have application potential for assimilating and integrating with introduced advanced technologies, have provided technologies and engineering examples for large-scale production in industrial enterprises. A contingent of engineers and managers has been established that is strong in research and development, good at extension of technical results, and market-focused. In short, the center has grown into a technical and industrial base, integrating research, development, design, testing, commercialization and training, and, thereby, playing a technical supporting role in ecological protection, development and industrialization.
