Natural Resources Association of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (Xinjiang Natural Resources Association for short, XJNRA in abbreviation) was established on August 23, 2005, and there are currently 321 members and 35 council members.

　　Xinjiang Natural Resources Association is a local corporate body voluntarily composed of the groups and individuals engaging in the scientific research, teaching and scientific and technological development in field of natural resources in Xinjiang as well as the personnel who are interested in natural resources, and it is an ingredient of Xinjiang Association of Science and Technology and of China Academy of Natural Resources.

　　The tenets of the association are to solidify and organize the vast scientific and technological working personnel in field of natural resources to effectively conserve, exploit and utilize the natural resources in Xinjiang by regarding economic construction as the emphasis, and organize the experts of natural resources science in Xinjiang (invite the experts from other provinces and autonomous regions) to demonstrate the projects of rationally exploiting, utilizing and conserving the natural resources in Xinjiang so as to provide the scientific bases for the government’s decision-making departments; to popularize the knowledge of natural resources science so as to promote the training of the qualified scientists and technicians and serve in building civilization of both material and moral aspects; to reflect the voice of the vast scientific and technological working personnel in field of natural resources, safeguard their legal rights and interests, and serve them; to implement the policy of “letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend”, and persist in the practical and realistic scientism and the fine style of work; to actively sparkplug the devotional, innovative, factualistic and synergic energy, carry forward the morality of having high regard for knowledge, qualified persons and science, develop the academic colloquy and academic exchange, and undertake the work actively, forwardly, earnestly and conscientiously based on the regulations of the association and the principle of democratically developing the association.
