Yang Weikang, male, born in October of 1972, a native of Chengdu city, Sichuan province, Han nationality, a Ph D. In 1994 he earned the Bachelor of Science degree in theoretical mathematics from the mathematics department of Xinjiang University; in 1997 Master of Science degree in botany from Xingjiang Institute of Biology, Soil and Desert under the CAS and in 2002 Doctor of Science degree in ecology from the Institute of Animal Science under the CAS. From 1997 up to now he has been working at Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography under the CAS and now is research fellow of the Institute, deputy head of research office for biodiversity and master tutor. In 2003 he was appointed as associate research fellow and in 2008 promoted to research fellow, mainly engaged in the researches on desert ecology, biology for desert rare and endangered animal conservation and animal ecology.
