"One-Yuan Donation for Love" Lighting Up the Poor Women’s and Children's Dreams and Hopes

  Recently, the staffs of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of Chinese Academy of Sciences respond positively to the activity, “To Care the Women and to Love the Children, One-Yuan Donation for Love", contributing a love for the poor women and children in Xinjiang, initiated by the Labor Union and Women Committee of Xinjiang Branch, CAS. Fund-raising activity has been supported by all of staff and graduate students since April 26. They donate 10 Yuan, 20 Yuan, 50 Yuan, 100 Yuan ... and a total of donations rose up to 5,103 Yuan.
  The aim of "One-Yuan Donation for Love" is to improve the women and children’s living condition in Xinjiang by raising fund from social donations. The women and children in poverty account for about 2/3 of the total 2.49 million poor people in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Helping poor women to do some business and poor children to attend school, One-Yuan may be not worth mention, then all together 2,000 Yuan we can help a rural woman to develop production; and a collection of 4,000 Yuan will be able to help a high school student finishing him/her education and achieving him/her dream. Let our love light up the mothers’ and children’s hopes and dreams.
