Recently, Atsumi Taiichi, the chairman of Sino-Japan Friendship Association of Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, with other 6 people and accompanied by the leader of the Xinjiang Friendship Association of Foreign Affair Office, had a friendly visit to the Institute.

Chairman Atsumi Taiichi and the guests communicated with some scientists of the Institute during the visit. Professor Cheng Xi, the director of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, briefly introduced the discipline distribution, research achievements and international cooperation of the institute to the guests, especially the achievements of the cooperation of our Institute and Shizuoka University. Chairman Atsumi Taiichi appreciated the research achievements of the Institute, and very interested in the research fields. He hopes, through this visit, that Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Shizuoka Prefecture strengthen the civilian friendly cooperation and communication, and promote a long-term and practical academic exchange and cooperation between Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography and Shizuoka University in future.

They highly praised the research capacities and achievements of the Institute and expressed their wishes to promote the exchange and cooperation between Shizuoka University and Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography.
