Deputy Rector Warren Kent Wray from Missouri University of Science and Technology Visits XIEG

On September 3, 2012, Dr. Warren Kent Wray, with deputy rector of Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), visited Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG), Chinese Academy of Sciences and conducted academic exchange with the master and doctor students of XIEG.
Dr. Warren Kent Wray introduced the status and development of Missouri S&T and summarized the communication and cooperation between the Missouri S&T and Chinese colleges and universities in recent years to the students. During the period, he also answered the related questions on studying abroad in Missouri S&T. This symposium provided a good communication platform for the students of XIEG to study abroad.
Founded in 1870, Missouri S&T originally called the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy (MSM), and it is the first technological learning institution in the west of the Mississippi region. In 1964, the MSM was upgraded to a standalone campus as the University of Missouri at Rolla (UMR). On January 1, 2008, the UMR officially changed its name as Missouri University of Science and Technology or Missouri S&T for short.
Missouri S&T is a comprehensive university with multi-disciplines, such as civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, humanities, social sciences, and arts. According to usnews.com, Missouri S&T is ranked the 82nd among top engineering graduate schools in the USA in 2012.
