Vice-prime-minister of Kyrgyz attends the “five-year anniversary of Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia (Bishkek)”

The Bishkek sub-center of Central Asia Research Center of Ecology and Environmental Sciences with Chinese Academy of Sciences celebrates the five-year anniversary of its establishment on March 25. Omurbekova A.S, vice premier of Kyrgyzstan, attended the celebration.
Omurbekova congratulated the establishment of Bishkek center of RCEECA, highly appreciated its scientific achievements on bilateral communications, platform construction, program cooperation and personnel training.
She stressed that, the center implemented large scientific and practical projects in the Asian region which have positive impact on the international communication and mutual understanding between people of different countries. These joint projects of the research center are very important for partnership with many research institutes and scientists of Academies of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, China, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
Among the series projects carried out between Xinjiang Ecology and Geography Institute of CAS and the institutes of Kyrgyz, a program started in 2016 and conducted by a group of scientists from Xinjiang and Kyrgyzstan, devoted to finding the most problematic polluted areas in large rivers of Kyrgyz and constructing water purifying infrastructure for rural areas of Dostuk. Having been finished in 2018, the running water treatment system was praised by local people and the government.
Chen Xi, vice-president of the Xinjiang Branch of CAS, director of RCEECA, said in his speech that the center supports ongoing projects, including the introduction of modern approaches for study of geography, geology and sustainable using of natural resources, introduction of advanced agricultural practices, conducting basic and applied scientific environmental research related to climate change, as well as the development of information technology.
After the celebration, Omurbekova also visited the laboratory and machine rooms of the center, she was acquainted more information about Bishkek sub-center.
RCEECA was established in 2014, it supports ongoing projects, including the introduction of modern approaches for study of geography, geology and sustainable using of natural resources, introduction of advanced agricultural practices, conducting basic and applied scientific environmental research related to climate change, as well as the development of information technology.
