Ahmedov awarded 2019 "Tianshan Prize" of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

   6 foreign experts, who have been working for years in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and contributed to local development, were awarded Tianshan Prize of 2019 recently. Ahmedov, a visiting scholar of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was granted the prize.

 
     Ahmedov is also an academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. He has dedicated his research results to improving cotton quality in Xinjiang since working for Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013.

 
     Ahmedov devoted about 9 months each year for his work in China. He has helped in improving the high-quality, high-yield and anti-reverse cotton in Xinjiang and even China in theory and practice. The improved research level laid a solid foundation for the development of Xinjiang's cotton industry. What's more, he also cultivated an innovation team in the field of cotton quality improvement for the region.

  
     "Tianshan Prize" of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is the highest honor awarded by the people's government of the region to foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to Xinjiang, both in economic construction and social development. Moreover, this is an efficient way to mobilizing their enthusiasm and promoting international talent exchange and cooperation.

 
      "Tianshan Prize" is selected once a year, with 5 to 10 foreign experts awarded each time. Up to now, 11 cooperative foreign experts from Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences have won the prize.
