XIEG Signs Two Cooperation Agreements at the First China-Central Asia Summit

Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed two cooperation agreements, which were included in the List of the first China-Central Asia Summit Outcomes.
On May 18, XIEG signed a cooperation agreement with the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan to build "China-Tajikistan Joint Laboratory for Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of Biological Resources along the Belt and Road".
On May 19, XIEG signed a cooperation agreement with the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University to build "Sino-Kazakhstan Joint Laboratory of Remote Sensing Technology and Application", at the newly opened Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Xi'an.
The two agreements opened a new chapter for the cooperation between XIEG and institutions in Central Asian countries. XIEG will continue to strengthen scientific and technological cooperation with Central Asian countries, and promote the implementation of Belt and Road Initiative.
The first China-Central Asia Summit was successfully held in Xi'an on May 18-19, 2023. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Presidents of the five Asian countries signed the Xi’an Declaration of the summit, and adopted a list of summit outcomes.
