XIEG holds 11th "Salon for Scientific Exchange"

The International Cooperation Division of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, held the 11th "Salon for Scientific Exchange" (SSE) on July 21. Saidov Abdusattor, Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, was invited to have a dialogue with Tajik students studying at the Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Firstly, Saidov Abdusattor introduced the main purpose of his visit to China, which was to attend the "Third Meeting of the Chinese-Tajik Committee for Scientific and Technical Cooperation Committee" and to discuss the cultivation of young talents with Zhang Guangjun, Vice Minister of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China. Then he shared the details of his meeting with Zhang Yuanming, Director of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography. During the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to utilize the jointly-built China-Tajikistan Joint Laboratory for Conservation and Utilization of Biological Resources to implement cooperative projects and strengthen the training of young talents. Lastly, Saidov Abdusattor stated that Tajikistan is currently at a crucial stage of economic development, and he hoped that Tajik students studying in China will strive for academic excellence, strengthen communication with students and experts from different countries, and return to Tajikistan after graduation and contribute to the development of Tajikistan.

As representatives of the Tajik students, Parviz Sukhrobov, Ph.D. student from Xinjiang Institute of Physics and Chemistry, and Dzhovid Yogibekov, Ph.D. student from Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, shared their experiences of studying and living in Xinjiang. Saidov Abdusattor encouraged them to continue their research at the China-Tajikistan Joint Research Center established by the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography after completion of their studies.

More than ten Tajik students participated in this salon. Mr. Mirvaisov Mamurdzhon, Head of the International Department of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, and Mr. Dzhalilov Dilshaodzhon, Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Economics and Demography of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, were also present at the event.
