XIEG Holds 2024 Doctoral and Master’s Commencement Ceremony

On June 15, the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences held the Doctoral and Master’s Commencement Ceremony for 2024 graduates.

Jilili Abuduwaili, Deputy Director of XIEG, announced the names of 99 graduates at the ceremony, and congratulated them on successfully completing their master’s and PhD degrees. ZHANG Yuanming, Director of XIEG, expressed his hope that all graduates could keep the spirit of exploration, and continue contributing their talent to research in arid regions and the development of society. ZHANG Xiangjun, Deputy Director of XIEG, led all graduates to make a pledge of commitment, declaring their dedication to upholding the integrity when embarking on a new journey in future.

LI Nuo, on behalf of the supervisors, encouraged the graduates to keep working hard and strive to become excellent researchers. QIN Jingxiu, on behalf of the Chinese graduates, and Richard Mind’je, on behalf of the international graduates, expressed their gratitude to XIEG for providing a supportive environment and to their supervisors for providing the guidance and instructions.

During the ceremony, five graduates were awarded with a certificate of excellence. Supervisors turned the tassel for each graduate, and graduates presented bouquets to their supervisors to express gratitude.

The ceremony concluded with a group photo. With gratitude and dreams, the graduates are ready to start a new chapter in their lives.
