XIEG Holds 45th Salon for Scientific Exchange

On August 1st, the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG) of Chinese Academy of Sciences held the 45th "Salon for Scientific Exchange" (SSE). The event attracted over 30 experts, scholars, and students from China and abroad.
Dr. Collins Elendu made a presentation titled "Optimized and sustainable approach for biofuel production to combat harmful emissions", offering the progress and demand situation of biofuels in countries such as Nigeria and China, as well as how to optimize them to address issues such as emissions of harmful gases and pollutants. This provided a feasible technical road map for future wide-scale application. At the same time, he also introduced the bottlenecks and constraints of this technology, and the need to achieve low-cost production methods from the laboratory to the workplace to facilitate its wide application and promotion.
During the discussion session, participants shared their views on "Adapting innovative technologies to African regions". The event provided valuable insights on Biofuel for participants to combat the harmful emissions.
Dr. Collins Elendu currently works as a Special research Assistant at XIEG. He was a Principal Research Fellow at Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, where he contributed to advancing national scientific research and shaping science and technology policies, as well as a corporate member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria. His areas of expertise include sustainable bioremediation, renewable energy, soil enhancement, emission reduction, and sustainability.
