XIEG Holds 2026 Doctoral and Master's Commencement Ceremony

On June 6, the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (XIEG, CAS) held the 2026 Doctoral and Master’s Commencement Ceremony. Prof. DUAN Weili, Deputy Director of XIEG, presided over the ceremony.

Prof. ZHANG Yuanming, Director of XIEG, extended warm congratulations to all graduates. He encouraged them to pursue lofty ideals, forge ahead unremittingly, carry forward the spirit of scientists as well as the XIEG spirit, and continue contributing to the nation.

YANG Peiguo, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of XIEG, read out the full list of the 116 graduating students. ZHANG Xiangjun, Deputy Director of XIEG, announced the commendations for outstanding graduates and merit students, encouraging all graduates to learn from role models, forge ahead, and strive forexcellence.

Academician XIAO Wenjiao, President of the Xinjiang Branch of CAS, led all graduates in taking a solemn oath, vowing to stay committed to their mission and uphold academic integrity. The pledge showcased the firm determination of young science and technology practitioners to serve the nation and society in the new era.

Representatives of supervisors, domestic graduates, international students and undergraduates delivered speeches on behalf of their respective groups. Supervisors turned the tassels and presented graduation certificates to each graduate.

The ceremony concluded with a group photo. The 2026 graduateswill carry forward the XIEG spirit and shine brightly with youthful vitality.
