The 5th Seminar on China-Japan Strategy of Science & Technology and Policy (from June 2 to June 5, 2008)

The Seminar on China-Japan Strategy of Science & Technology and Policy was co-initiated by Shi Erwei, the vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Yūki Akio, a deputy minister of the Japanese Ministry of Education. The fifth was organized by the XIEG. The attendees included Shi Erwei, the vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the related persons in charge of the Planning Bureau, the Bureau of Personnel and Education, Bureau of Strategic Planning and International Cooperation Agency and Yukihide Hayashi, the director (deputy minister) of Japanese Ministry of Education as well as nearly 50 representatives from the National Research Institute of Japan, universities and Science and Technology Foundations. In this seminar the topics discussed included: the evaluation mechanism and the financial management of the institute, the maintenance of the team innovation of the institute and the optimization of the team structure as well as training of young talents.
