Xinjiang Research Center for Mineral Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Was Found

To implement the spirit of the Meeting of Central Government on Xinjiang Work, to promote the western development and resources exploitation in Xinjiang, the Xinjiang Research Center for Mineral Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences was found on Oct. 29, 2010. The Research Center for Mineral Resources mainly relies on the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, and was jointly found by the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, CAS.

  The Research Center for Mineral Resources will meet the demand of the national strategy and the front of international Geosicence, serve for the security and strategy of the national recourses, promote the base establishment of western mineral resources; and enhance the scientific and technological innovation of national geological science.

  The main tasks of the Research Center for Mineral Resources are to create new theory of regional metallogenesis, to search new methods of mineral resources reconnaissance, to develop new technology of mineral exploration and synthetical resources utilization, to form an innovational value chain of Theoretical Support→Technology Integration→Teconnaissance Demonstration→Mining Development, to provide scientific basis and technological support for the establishment of the national mineral resources security system, and to become an important base for western talent training.
