2026 Annual Academic Conference of China-Kazakhstan Joint Laboratory for Remote Sensing Technology and Applications and the 1st Central Asia-China Symposium on Remote Sensing Technology and Applications

2026-04-08

The China–Kazakhstan Joint Laboratory of Remote Sensing Technology and Application (RST&A) was officially inaugurated on March 27, 2024. Jointly established by the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the laboratory serves as an important platform for China–Kazakhstan scientific and technological cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The laboratory focuses on remote sensing technology and geographic information systems, with key research directions including ecological and environmental monitoring in Central Asia, climate change adaptation, and agricultural resource management. It is committed to providing scientific and technological support for regional sustainable development and improving people’s livelihoods. To further promote academic exchange and scientific cooperation in remote sensing between China and Central Asian countries, the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will jointly host the “2026 Annual Academic Conference of the China–Kazakhstan Joint Laboratory of Remote Sensing Technology and Applications and the I Central Asia -China Symposium on Remote Sensing Technology and Applications,” to be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from June 26 to 29, 2026.
