The Laboratory focuses on fundamental research, applied studies and sample analysis. It is the channel for external communication–the means by which science and technology is promoted, and the major base for the cultivation of high scientific talents. As a key component of the support system within the XIEG, it provides technical services for the studies on ecological changes and agriculture in oases, environmental changes and ecological rehabilitation of deserts, the utilization of natural resources and regional development, the protection and usage of biological diversity, and high-altitude observation and system simulation. The Laboratory is open to external scientific research institutions, organizations and individuals.
The Laboratory has dozens of advanced precision instruments and equipment with the necessary facilities, including IRMS, ICP-MS GC-MS, SEM, TEM, AAS, IC, FL, UV, Microwave Digestion, GC, HPLC, LPLC, DNA Sequencer, PCR, IEF, Flow Injection, Double-Channel Fluorescence Spectrometry, Thermatica-Stage (DSC) System, Liquor Scintillation Counter, Electrochemical Workstation, Kjeltec Auto 1035 Sampler System, Centrifuge and 1000 class cleaning room.
